- Next meeting March 9, will be a potluck, mealtime 6:00 PM be there
for great food and fellowship. Meetings to follow.
Swap Meet March 24th and 25th vendor fee $20.00.
Come eat breakfast and buy all that stuff you need.
- December Meeting: We didn’t have a quorum for the meeting several
items were discussed but no action could be taken.
Ed Arndt has contacted the Adrian FFA and they will handle the parking for
the June show this year.
Tim Hummel reported that the big engines would not be
moving to the new barn, but they would make more room where they are at the present.
Tim also ask for suggestions about additions for the Veterans display.
It was suggested to add a silhouette of a combat Nurse to the display.
A workday was called for to clean out the old blacksmith shop.
- Donations: Adrian Bank donated $750.00, thanks.
The signs have been updated. Thanks to Mutt Reitz, our new show
date is now out there on the signs.
- January Meeting: Charlie Haverfield wants to place his Avery Tractor
in the Museum on loan it was approved by the board and a loan document will be
drawn up between him and the club.
Steven said he wanted the blacksmith clean up day prior to the swap meet so
any excess material could be sold at the meet. The workday will be set at the
February meeting. Bill Thurman said he would not be able to chair the gas engine
display at the next show, he suggested a committee handle it. It was suggested
that the committee give instructions to the registration office and have the
displayers register and get instructions before sitting up.
Tim Hummel reported the He and others of the engine people had changed out
the nonworking air compressor in the engine shed.
Bill Thurman wanted to purchase the Red River threshing machine from the club
so it would be mated with the Advance steam engine he has purchased. This engine
and threshing machine were purchased together by the original owner. Bill said that
he would take responsibility for the upkeep of the machine and it would remain at
the show grounds as long as the club was in existence. The board agreed to this.
Duane Craig representing the Greater Kansas City Two Cylinder Club reported their
club was planning a Tractor Cruise on May 6, 2006 and wanted to invite the Club
and or any individuals to take part in it. It a charity event to raise money for
the Dream Factory which grants wishes to seriously ill children in the greater
Kansas City area. There ample opportunities for us as a club or individuals to
take part in this as a tractor driver or volunteer. It will take a large number
of persons to man an event such as this.
- February Meeting: Don Hill reported that he, Delbert Watts, and Kenneth Engelhardt
had taken most of the Christmas lights down. Steven called for work days on
March 4th and 18th in preparation of the Swap Meet.
A committee for the museum addition was formed, Delbert Watts, Steven Doody,
Bill Thurman, Darrel Tenholder, Jim Tenholder, and Ken Tenholder. This committee will plan
and oversee the addition to the museum.
Ernie Swan has donated two large engines for the sawmill.
Bill Parrish brought the show bill final draft for approval.
George Reed reported that the Greater Kansas City Two Cylinder Club
will sponsor a tractor cruise to raise money for the Dream Factory, inviting all to participate.
Steven Doody is the contact person for all food vendors.
- NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT: If you are a chairman of a committee, please
try to attend the April, May, & June board meetings. It is very important that
we are all on the same page and have all questions answered ahead of time.
