JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2007 News Letter

* Swap Meet March 23-24, 2007
* March meeting is a Pot Luck, March 8, 2007 6:00 PM.
* Work Day March 17, 2007 be there to get ready for the Swap Meet.
- December Board Meeting: Steven Doody wanted to thank every one for
their help Hot Chocolate Night, It was a big success it was the largest crowd ever.
The Christmas light were fantastic many good comments. Steven Doody wanted the
swap meet flyers made available. It is time to get them passed out. Tim Hummel
reported that the swap meet committee had suggested a fall swap meet; a date
will be decided later. The Tractor Show, Show bill will go to the printers soon.
Just some final touch ups. Bill Parrish has made up a tram driver schedule,
it is in the office it has been suggested that all members avail themselves to
keeping the trams operating, this is very important inside the park as well as
outside. Please come by the office during the Swap Meet and reserve your time
to drive a tram. Everyone’s help is needed.

a garden tractor pulling association were present discussing using the park for a pull.
The date of July 28th was agreed upon.
- January Board Meeting: Bill Parrish has delivered the 2007 show bills
to the office they are ready for posting and handing out. Don Arndt said that he
needed pictures of the Board Members for the annual paper, which The Adrian Journal
puts out for each show. It was decided that the 2007 show button would have a
picture of Fred Lewis’ Planet Jr. mower.
- February Board Meeting: Steven called for a workday on March 17, to
get ready for the swap meet and take down Christmas lights. Not much in way of business
acted on. The Swap Meet Committee has set a date for our first fall meet;
it will be on October 19-20, 2007.
- Donations: The Adrian Bank donated $750.00. Missouri Town at Lake
Jacomo has donated a Post Office unit to the club.
- Don’t forget to check on you membership dues status, check with me or
note the number in the upper right of the mailing label, it should read 2007 or
indication of a life membership, if you are paid up. The membership dues help
us defray the cost of operating the club, promotion expenses, advertising and
postage for newsletters.
- Presidents Corner: I would like to thank everyone for the opportunity
to be the president again this year. I am just one person but we have a wonderful
organization and I am proud to be a part of it. I would like to remind everyone
with a June show, the March and April meetings are very important for finalizing
the show plans....May is too late. Please bring any new ideas / changes to the
March or April meetings. All members are welcome to our meetings and we are glad to see you.
I also want to remind you about the scale engine show in 2008.

- The Ladies Auxiliary: Don’t forget the potluck at the March 8th meeting.
Men please invite your wives and family we will eat at 6:00 PM with the meetings
starting about 7:00 PM. Bring your own table service, any questions call 816 297 2776.
We will be planning for the Swap Meet.

- Duane’s Editorial: As with every organization, government, club or
association. We have the type and quality of leadership, which we deserve, as
this leadership is the direct by-product of our involvement. I am proud of the
leadership of WMATMA we have dedicated individuals, who have given of themselves
to promote and work for a great organization. I just took notice of the addition
to the big Engine barn and realized that it had been closed-in since I had last seen
it. Club members taking it upon themselves to make use of their time and talents to
increase the capacity of our show grounds. Please be one who steps up and make your
self-available to help out wherever you can. There is always enough work to go
around.
