MAY - JUNE 2006 News Letter

- Work days each Saturday before Showtime. Please be there and watch the web site for Grain
Binding. We will need all the help we can get, so clear your calendar for the next few weeks. We
have a nice village lets make it look its best.
- Special Called Board Meeting: A special meeting of the Board was called for April 22, 2006.
The Board and Ladies Auxiliary and Rayland Downey were present. Action was taken to start the
construction of the new bathhouse. The total cost should be under $20,000.00. The Community of
Christ Church Group Are putting up $4000.00 and the Ladies Auxiliary are giving $5,000.00 towards
the cost of the project.
- Youth Day: We had about 75 youth from two schools at the village on May 1,2003.
There were two schools represented, Adrian and Drexel. We were a little short of workers.
We were able to demonstrate the big engines, steam, woodcarving, caboose, blacksmith shop,
Spruce store and Ernie Swann ran the sawmill. Thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for delicious
ham and beans and cake for lunch.
- Key Box: Delbert Watts donated an locking mail box for a key drop
for the mowing tractor, gas barrel and the old Ford truck. It is located on
the east wall of the open shed where the mower tractor is kept. Call Delbert
or Don for the combination. This will make it easier for those who come to mow
and work at the village. Please return the key to the lock box when you are
finished with the days work.
- May Board Meeting: Charlie Eagleburger and John Ruether reported on the Thrasher that was given to
the club. We will move it after the Tractor show. The club voted to have a Fund raising tractor pull on
July 22nd. The show bill for the pull will be attached to this letter.

Fred Lewis reported that he has a space
for the Haverfield tractor in the museum. Fred was injured when he fell while taking a buggy down from
the wall, bruised but not broken. The Board has moved Youth day to October a week after Kids
day, this should be a better time. Rayland Downing of the Community of Christ Church presented a check
for the amount of $4,000.00, their pledge for the new bath house. The bathhouse was nearing
completion. Steven called for workers for every Saturday in June before the show. The grass is growing
and mowers are needed, as well as all of the other projects that need to be completed prior to show time.
Please be available to help put the finishing touches on the park for the show, a well maintained show
grounds should welcome our visitors.
- Member News: Our condolences to Charlie Eagleburger in the passing of his brother in Springfield, MO.
Kenny Hooper, Duane Craig, Quentin Otter and Charlie Eagleburger went on the Two Cylinder Club
Tractor Cruise on Saturday May 6th. They traveled about 40 miles through out Jackson County and
raised $12,018.00 for the Dream Factory of Kansas City. Thank you to WMATMA and members for your
financial support. This is the third time I have tried to go on a cruise and the first time I
was able to complete one.
- Belt Buckles: Please note your reserved number buckles will not be held after June 23rd. They may
be purchased in the office on Thursday or Friday the 22nd and 23rd of June.
- I hope to see you at the show come by the office and say Hi to Farrell and me.

Don’t forget the best Breakfast in Bates County, maybe the entire State is available from the ladies
auxiliary. We need to thank these ladies for their contribution to the show.
